STC GoriNat 18

STC GoriNat 18 is a super concentrate of Sodium Silicate at 18%

It's a polysiloxane, ecologically completely inorganic. The silicate anions contained therein react with the calcium ions present in the hardened cement, forming a durable and impervious calcium silicate gel, resistant to water and to other liquids.

This reaction takes place inside cement pores. Ca-silicate gel obstructs porosity, giving the concrete improved resistance to liquids and at the same time tougher, wear-resistant, carbon-neutral and more aggressive to acids.

In very old cement the present calcium is almost completely insoluble and therefore cannot generate Ca ++. In this case a preliminary treatment with a solution of a calcium salt is required.

In contact with metals, STC GoriNat 18 forms mono-molecular films of metal silicates, impervious to oxygen and acids and therefore also acts as anticorrosive UV.
